Please read this disclaimer carefully before using SeniorOrgCheck. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.
SeniorOrgCheck aggregates and displays publicly available data from the following sources:
• IRS Form 990 filings — Annual tax returns filed by tax-exempt organizations, legally required to be made public under IRC Section 6104.
• ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer — A public database aggregating IRS 990 data.
• US Census Bureau American Community Survey — Publicly available demographic statistics.
• IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File — The official registry of tax-exempt organizations.
All financial figures, ratios, scores, and rankings displayed on SeniorOrgCheck are derived from these public sources. We do not conduct independent audits or verifications of any organization’s financial statements.
While we make every reasonable effort to display data accurately, SeniorOrgCheck cannot guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of information presented on this site. IRS Form 990 filings may contain errors made by the filing organization. Data may be delayed by 6–18 months relative to an organization’s actual current financial position, as nonprofits typically file 990s several months after their fiscal year ends.
Our Efficiency Score is a proprietary calculation based on publicly available data points. It is intended as one input among many and should not be used as the sole basis for any donation, care, or business decision. The score does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or professional assessment of any organization.
Nothing on SeniorOrgCheck constitutes:
• Financial advice — We are not registered financial advisors. Decisions about charitable donations should be made in consultation with a qualified financial professional.
• Legal advice — We are not attorneys. Nothing here should be interpreted as legal guidance regarding nonprofit law, tax deductibility, or organizational compliance.
• Healthcare advice — Information about senior care organizations does not constitute a recommendation for medical care, assisted living, or any health-related service.
Our Efficiency Score (0–100) is a proprietary metric calculated from publicly available IRS 990 data. It measures four components: overhead ratio (40%), revenue growth (30%), transparency indicators (20%), and organizational size/stability (10%). The score is intended to facilitate comparison among similar organizations and should be interpreted in context.
A low score does not necessarily indicate a poorly-run organization — it may reflect limited filing history, a startup phase, atypical accounting practices, or a reporting period affected by extraordinary events. Conversely, a high score does not guarantee that an organization will be the right fit for every donor or service recipient.
